Falcon

Marvel Comic's Falcon first appeared in Captain America #117 in September 1969.  Sam Wilson was born and raised in Harlem.  He became a social worker and ended up on an island where the Red Skull was involved in some sort of nefarious plan.  Sam met Captain America when he came to the island to stop the Red Skull.  Together they made The Falcon persona and then together they defeated The Red Skull.  The Falcon then worked with Captain America as his partner for a time.

Later, with the help of The Black Panther, he developed a harness that allowed him to fly.  Separating from Captain America, Falcon become a member of S.H.E.I.L.D., and is later then recruited to the government ordered lineup of the Avengers.  He was there for only a few missions before going back to solo adventuring.

The Falcon has the ability to fly and is a highly trained hand to hand combatant.  He also was given, via the Cosmic Cube (don't ask) a close mental bond with Redwing, his falcon, as well as the ability to communicate to some extent with most birds.
