Rictor first appeared in X-Factor #17 in June 1987. Julio Esteban Richter was a mutant born with the ability to generate seismic vibrations up to earthquake level. He lost his powers at one point for an extended period, but later regained them. He has been a member of X-Factor, The New Mutants, and The X-Men. He also has been in a relationship with teammate Shatterstar (their on panel is immediately below)
