How could they explain how I feel...

I wonder if anyone can explain these things to me.

1) the tour guides at the Grand Canyon are no longer allowed to explain the Canyon was created over millions of years by the Colorado River. Per the Department of the Interior, they're not allowed to do that anymore so that they don't offend creationists. Yet in the gift shop, they sell a book that states the Canyon was created by Noah's flood.

Can anyone explain to me how it's okay to stifle science so as to not offend creationists, yet it's okay to insult the intelligence of scientist and truly, any thinking person.

2) The House has passed a bill that allows the Secretary of Health and Human Services to negoiate with pharmaceutical companies to lower prices for Medicare recipients. Not FORCING the Secretary to do so, just allowing him to do so, should he so desire. This overturns a law passed by the last Republican Congress which expressly forbid the Sectrary from negotiating for lower prices. Bushie has, in his 6 years, used the veto only once (course, if you've got a Congress that's little more than a rubber stamp for whatever you want, why would you need to use a veto?), yet he has said he will veto this bill should it reach his desk.

Can anyone explain to me why Bushie would chose to use only his second veto for a bill that would potentially lower prices for people on Medicare? Maybe being the pocket of the large drug companies and caring more about them than the common American could have something to do with it?

The thing about not mentioning the geological age of the Grand Canyon grates on my nerves. How dare the fundamentalists suppress scientific information. I don't know if you ever hit the Science Blogs site at http://scienceblogs.com/ but there've been lots of writings about the crap that goes on at the Grand Canyon.

As far as the Sec of HHS - the Dems should have forced him to do so, not allowed him.

I'm flabbergasted by the Congressional Republicans. They are crying because the Democrats are proposing bills without having a joint conference. Let me see how many bills did the Reps invite the demos in on? Could it be none? Now the Republicans are calling for bipartisanship. Now they want to work with the demos. So funny.
Colts Win!!! Colts Win!!!It wasn't pretty they didn't score a TD but it was a great win against the Ravens.

When will this country come back to it's senses? I am really sick of bowing to these non scientific creationists.

As fo a Bush veto of lower drug prices, that is to be expected, he is all about big business and profits. Screw the little guy.
