Oh black water, keep on rolling...

Can we all make a pact, here and now please. Let's not name anything more after water. I, for one, am sick of all the 'water' scandals. First there was "Watergate". Ten years ago we were in the midst of the trumped up "Whitewater" 'scandal'. And now, we have these problems in Iraq with this "Blackwater" group/company/thingee.

For those unaware of what I'm talking about, those that don't pay attention to current events, and those that only watch the Fox Noise Channel, here is the Wikipedia entry:

"Blackwater USA is a self-described private military company and security firm founded in 1997 by Erik Prince and Al Clark. It has been alternatively been referred to as a mercenary company by numerous sources in the international media. It is based in the U.S. state of North Carolina, where it operates a tactical training facility that it claims is the world's largest. The company trains more than 40,000 people a year, from all the military services and a variety of other agencies. The company markets itself as being "The most comprehensive professional military, law enforcement, security, peacekeeping, and stability operations company in the world".
Blackwater is currently the biggest of the
US State Department's three private security contractors. At least 90% of its revenue comes from government contracts, two-thirds of which are no-bid contracts. Missions conducted by Blackwater Security Consulting have raised significant controversy both through casualties suffered and inflicted by their employees."

Can't we just name something after dirt? A hotel after fire: The Firegate? A land deal after ice: Whitecold? And what's self-described as you can read above as just another way, over the last six years, for the Republican party to funnel public taxpayer dollars into a private company, run by, for, and of the Republican Party? I mean, that's what it IS isn't it?

God, I hope I live long enough to see this administration ensconced in history right where it belongs: below that of James Buchanan in competance and above that of Warren Harding in corruption.
