Comb in my 'fro, divine retribution, and away we will go...

After the Iowa State Supreme Court overturned a law banning gay marriages, thus allowing gays and lesbians in the state to marry, I heard and read some right wingnuts ranting and raving that God would punish state for this. Iowa's crops would be destroyed, the state would be flooded, tornados would rip it apart, that sorta thing.

I mocked it, thinking myself don't crops in Iowa already fail sometimes? Doesn't the state have several floods a year? Isn't in the middle of "Tornado Alley"? No getting a hurricane to ravage the state, that might be worth notice. And if God really wanted to punish Iowa, why not just let the right wingnuts that ran Bush's administration take over state government? Then Iowans can see a true disaster up close and personal.

But all my mocking was wrong. I read this online:

Blizzard warnings were issued for Saturday evening into Sunday for northern Iowa, where up to a foot of snow was possible. Strong winds of 30-35 mph will create whiteout conditions.
Kinney said total snow amounts in northwest and north central Iowa would be around 6-10 inches. High winds will create blizzard conditions, especially in open areas.
''March late-season snowstorms are fairly common, but not too often do we get them extending into April,'' he said.

Oh my HEAVENS! Clearly this April blizzard, this 'possible foot of snow' in Iowa is God showing his displeasure with the Supreme Court's decision! Those justice's better get on their needs and repent and repeal their decision! I mean a blizzard in Iowa!!! Well, whoever HEARD of such a thing????

Hmmm. I'm predicting the sun will also stop shining on Iowa (between 9:00 pm and 6:00 am).
