Well, i could have objections, which you could override, but what's the point...

Saw this online:

Same-Sex Marriage Legalized In Vermont
Following tense and emotional proceedings on the legislative floor, the Vermont house voted, 100-49, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, to override Gov. Jim Douglas's veto of same-sex marriage legislation.

Wow, now this is surprise. My memory was that the bill to authorize gay marriage had passed the Vermont House by 6 votes short of what was needed to override the anti-gay governor's veto. But it looks like that made it up somehow.

Wow, Iowa and Vermont within a week of each other! And this one's throught the legislature, NOT the courts, so that'll make it more difficult for the anti-gay groups to overturn it.

Equality's just breaking out ALL over!

Wow, 100-49 is a pretty big margin. Yay Vermont. Maybe this is the start of a trend. One can hope.

I read an article on USA Today that says the rate of atheism in VT is 34%, in NH it's 29%, and 25% in ME. RI is 20% atheist. New England overall 27% atheist.

The article also stated that in places where membership in religion is higher, they're the ones that have the gay marriage bans. So it's pretty easy to make the cognitive jump, the more religious the less likely to support equality.
