And the judges watched us from the other side...

The Supreme Court ruled, 5-4, that detainees at Gitmo have the right to Habeus Corpus, just anyone else held under the authority of the United States, whether a citizen or an alien.

I caught Laura "Screeching Harpy" Ingraham on the O'Reilly show tonight. I heard Moncia "Shrill Shrew" Crowley sitting in for Laura on her radio show. Both of them were sounding like cats in heat with all the ranting and raving they were doing. Seriously, I thought Monica might just stroke out right there on the air.

Oh, the things this decision will do (according to them). It will allow terrorists, those at Gitmo and others just like them, to walk the streets of the USA unmolested and blow themselves up in crowded Starbucks all over the land. It will the government, military, or police from doing anything to stop them from killings us. It is clearly a violation of the Constitution for unelected 'activist' judges to say that what the president and Congress want is wrong. It is laughable that these five old jurists think they know military preparedness and the safety and protection of the homefront better than the miliary or the president. How DARE they!

I was actually honestly laughing out loud.

This decision says nothing more than it is unConsititutional to hold ANYONE under ANY authority of the United States government and not tell them what they are charged with. Some of those guys have been held down there for 6 years and have never been charged with anything. And have never seen the inside of a courtroom yet.

And let's not forget, Monica, these detainees are 'alleged' terrorists. The only 'proof' we have that they actually are terrorists is the word of good old Georgie Bush...and since he lied to get us into Iraq, among many other times, we know just how 'good' his word is. We have no proof they are terrorists or were fighting actively against us in the field because they've never been in a courtroom, thus meaning the government has never had to show any evidence they were terrorists.

If it's so obvious that these guys are terrorists, then what is the Administration and its ilk so scared of? All they have to do is go into a federal court and show the judge the evidence they have against the guy for the charges they want to hold him on, just incidently like every other person in the United States being detained. I can understand why they'd be scared, if their evidence is so flimsy and weak that maybe there IS no 'proof' of them being terrorists. Well, they don't want to admit they've been holding someone for 6 years with not proof they did anything wrong.

And it for the Screeching Harpy to insist it's unConstitutional shows either that she's stupid, or just willgully ignorant. The whole prupose OF the Supreme Court is to interpret the laws passed by and signed into law by the Congress and the President. that's they're whole entire purpose.

Well, on the bright side, if they're going into apoplexic fits over the Supreme Court doing it's job and interpreting the Constitution appropriately, at least they're out there spreading dirty rumors and unfounded innuedno against Obama and his wife. So there is an upside to this.

By the way, the decision was 5-4. Three of the 5 judges in the majority, were appointed by Republican presidents.

Finally the Supreme Court comes through with a positive statement about Habeus Corpus. The 5to4 decision makes all the more important that Obama is elected president

Indeed, getting Obama into the White House is critical since a few of our liberal friends on the court are getting up there in age.

But I don't understand what the talking heads don't get about the U.S. Constitution. It is the overriding law of the land. They completely forget that.
