A Quinnipiac Survey released today show the following results:
Overall, Obama leads McCain 47% - 42%.
In the following 'battleground' states:
Virginia: Obama 47-45 over McCain
Wisconsin: Obama 52-43 over McCain
Florida: Obama 47-43 over McCain
Ohio: Obama 48-42 over McCain
Pennsylvania: Obama 52-40 over McCain
I knew Pennsylvania would come around, after all they went for Kerry, Gore, and Clinton twice. Didn't think it would be soon though. And Florida, wow. Granted, it's only 4 points, but geez, Obama's never even campaigned there much at all.
And let me end this by repeating what someone said on the message boards today:"This time in 1988, Dukakis was ahead by 17 points. Remember how that turned out?" The snideness in the comment aside, it is a good point raised. Nonetheless, that fact does not prevent my excitement from growing everytime I think of those numbers and this race.
