I think (or rather I hope and pray) I inadvertantly, yet stupidly, turned off the laptop's wireless card last night. I am going to attempt to rectify this when I get home from work. However, should you hear nothing from me for the rest of the night, either on here, Yahoo, Facebook or any number of various and sundry porn sites, just remember it may be the laptop.

It's not like a stack of book filled boxes fell on me, or I inhaled too much of the dust I stirred up in packing and had an allergic reaction causing my throat to swell to seven times it's usual size and I'm now in the hospital hooked up to breathing tubes, or a Weevil got sucked through the rift and deposited in my bathtub and took out it's unhappiness on me.

No, nothing like that. If I don't post anytime soon, I'm probably sitting in front of my laptop, crying at the blank screen and cursing every single computer manufacturer and inventor I can think of.

Laptops have a way to turn the wireless adapter on and off.

On most Dell laptops it's a software switch. On XPS and Inspiron laptops Fn-F2 toggles the adapter on/off. You'll see the Dell Quickset flash up a tower with a red circle with a slash over a radio tower if it's off, or just a radio tower if it's on.

Lenovo laptops have a physical switch but read just like the soft switch. Slide one way and radio is off, the other and it's on.
