So, I started packing tonight. I filled up one 18 gallon rubber tub with CD's...and still have some CD's left over. But I had to stop, cause the lids I had gotten for the tubs were too small. Had to drive back out to Wal-Mart to exchange them. And now that I've returned, the motivation to pack has packed itself right up and out of me.
Oh, but since I have to put the trash out for tomorrow, as I was gathering it, I saw a pile of old porn magazines I had laying around. So i went through them and threw out like 40 of them...although did put aside 11 to keep. And there magazines were ones I had BEFORE I left home. I don't know why I'm even keeping those, they;'re from like 1990 or such.
Well, no actually I do. Some of them have pretty hot guys in them, guys that I remember spending MANY a night with at home right before I went to sleep. And one of them was the VERY first gay porn magazine I ever bought, way back in 1986! God...I am such a freakin' packrat.
Anyway, on the way home from work today, I talked myself into getting rid of my cassette tapes. I've got two boxes full of music cassettes in a closet here. And I haven't listening to a single one since I've lived here, so that's how I can justify getting rid of them, but man I HATE doing it! I mean, what if, six years from now, I NEED to hear something on one of them that I don't have on CD???? *SIGH*...but I've convinced myself we'll just sell them for a nickel each at mom's yard sale. And any that don't get bought, we'll just toss out.
Ya know this packing thing gonna be tough, cause not only am I really, habitually lazy, but I'm a pack rat and HATE throwing anything away. It's traumatic!

If you are moving into a bigger space why do you have to throw away anything? Couldn't you just organize more and still fit everything in? This is a fellow pack rat talking. (Dad is still bringing things from the old house for me to decide what to do with.)
I would keep at least one or two of the tapes for the....when I was little this is how we listened to music thing.
Of course this is why our entire basement is full of crap. Maybe you should purge while you can.
LOL...I'm still lugging around my cassettes. Maybe I'll get rid of them with the next move.
