Someone book me a room (Part 33)...

Chapter 2, Page 2....

Today, my plan was to do nothing but laundry and spend the rest of the day on my newly fixed couch (see yesterday's page) and watch Star Trek: Enterprise episodes on Netflix.  Didn't even plan on showering.  And I DID get two loads of laundry done, although I did forget about the second load (bedsheets) and had to go retrieve them from the dryer at like 9pm or so.

At any rate, I was doing what I planed until up about 11:30 or so, when mom called.  She wanted to know if I had eaten lunch or had plans for lunch, because she wanted to go to Montezuma's.   I told her of COURSE i'd like to go eat there with her, but I'd probably not get showered, just throw some presentable clothes on.  And she said she was fine with that.

So I drove to her house and together we walked over, despite the wind and cold, because she said we needed the exercise.  Which we did.  And the food was, of course, delicious.  And I, of course, ate way too much, including WAY too many nacho chips.  She said she was going to be making roast beef sandwiches with some organization this afternoon, and she'd bring me two down.  That was fine with me too.

After lunch and returning home, I got online, onto a hookup site, and ended up having a new guy come over for a very short bedtimesexxyfun. It did little but relieve some tension...but really, that's all I wanted.

After he left, I just watched more ST:E until mom came to the door.  She had my sandwiches, but, she said, since she had helped me with the sofa, it was my turn to help her.  She had, on her chimney top, this metal...covering.  It prevented water from getting down IN the chimney but still allowed the smoke from fires to get out.  And the wind had blown it off and onto the deck roof.  She wanted me to hold the ladder for her while she got it off the roof with a rake.  I of course went along.  I carried the ladder up, while she went to get a rake.  And the roof of the deck was really no more than ten feet high, so I just climbed up the ladder about three steps, and then I could see the thing we were looking for.  She brought the rake (all surprised that I was even up ON the ladder), and gave it to me and the job was completed lickety-split.  Then she drove me back home, even though I mentioned walking because, she said, "The temperature's dropped, and the wind's picked up and it 's too cold to walk!" Which was.

I watched more ST:E until I went to bed about...9-ish.  After getting the bedsheets out of the dryer.  I went to bed early because I had training the next day and didn't want to be late to that.
