One man, one vote, in a unitary state...

Finally, even the House Republicans had too much of Tom DeLay's scandalous, illegal behavior and they needed to fill his position as House Majority Leader. There were three guys (naturally, all the possible candidates were white men, this IS the Republican party, after all) running for the job, and I have no idea what their names were. The winner, in the end, was John Boehner of Ohio. But that's not the point of this post.

The Republicans, smeared with more scandal than anyone since Nixon, wanted to clean up their image. To show the American people they were not all greedy, corrupt sleaze-meisters (yeah, try saying THAT with a str8 face). They wanted to restore the American peoples' faith in them as a party of integrity and decency (I don't know HOW I'm not pissing myself with laughter while trying to type this).

So they gathered in private to cast thier votes. That's all fine and good, it's an intra party deal they should be able to vote in private. But after the first ballot, they had no winner. Was there a tie? Did none of the men get a majority? No. What happened was, there were more votes cast than there were Republicans there to vote in the first place.

BWHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

OhmiGOD! I expect the House Republicans to cheat the American people out of all they can, steal from the poor and middle classes to ensure thier millionnaire friends and multi-national conglomerate CEO's get huge obscene amounts of money, and sell the country out to the highest bidder. but my GOD they can't even stop from cheating on themselves!!!! Someone stuffed the ballot box!! And this time, it wasn't in Florida or Ohio!

Oh my GOD, is this classic!!! But did anyone hear about it in the media? Was there coverage of it? Not that I heard. I saw it on the Daily SHow, when they were rebroadcasting some unknown reporter from MSNBC who was reporting it. Nothing on the major news network, though, eh? Typical of the media. And typical of the Republicans as well. Man, I wish I could think up things as funny as this stuff!
