Found this online. It seems some company did a survey, polling somewhere around 1,200 people. These are the abyssmal results:
People that know Krypton is Superman's home planet - 60%
People that know Mercury is the closest planet to the sun - 37%
People that can name all three Stooges (Moe, Larry, Curly) - 74%
People that can name all three branches of Government (Executive, Legislative, Judicial) - 42%
People that can name the most recent winner of American Idol (Taylor Hicks) - 23%
People that can name the most recent Justice to the Supreme Court (Samuel Alito) - 11%
People that can name two of the Seven Dwarfs - 75%
People that can name two of the justices on the Supreme Court - 25%
At least I take some heart in knowing on 23% knew the American Idol winner. Perhaps there IS hope...
Not to brag, but I knew all the correct answers. I figured the Palace visitors to be a pretty knowledgable lot, so tell me, how many of you knew the answer to all 8 questions?
Oh, just in case you were interested: Doc, Sleepy, Sneezy, Happy, Grumpy, Dopey, and Bashful. (Those were the dwarves, not the Supreme Court...although, in some cases, how would anyone know the difference?) And the Supreme Court membership is Roberts, Stevens, Ginsburg, Kennedy, Breyer, Souter, Alito, Scalia, Thomas.

Of course I didn't know all of these answers. But government isn't as fun as the dwarfs. And I heard that the stooges were hung.
