You were inverted, no one alerted you...

About this terrorist plot to blow up the planes, since it was from British authorities, I tend to believe it slightly more than had it come from our own government, cause our credibility is nil. However:

1) The director of the FBI said today that there were over a hundred agents working in the USA over the last few months trying to find connections between the group involved in the attack and any American group and citizen, and could find none. ANd,

2) There has been threat, either explicit or implicit, against any domestic flights only those trans-Atlantic ones.

Given both these facts, I wonder how necessary it was to jack the threat level up to it's highest, to the IMMINENT THREAT level, and slap all these new restictions immediately on passengers. Could there be perhaps some other reason?

Hmmmmm, let me see...could Bushie tanking ratings and the Republicans not far behind AND an upcoming election in the fall wherein Republicans are expected to experience big losses...could THAT have anything to do with it?

Don't get me wrong. I am NOT suggesting this plot was fabricated, nor that the US Government had anything to do with it. I'm suggesting that considering the dire straights they are in, the Republicans would resort to thier old tried and true tactic: fear. Fear of the blacks in the 60's, fear of Russia throughout the Reagan Years, fear of fags in the mid-2000's. And now once again, fear of terrorists. Granted we should be wary of terrorist attacks, but I'm speaking about the possible overreaction.

Perhaps, if the threat level remains at it's highest, and all the Republicans talk about is attack attack attack 911 attack terrorist Muslim extremeist attack, etc, etc, it will distract the people from the mess they've made of Katrina, the Iraq war, the economy, etc, etc, etc.

If you have nothing positive to say, scare them into voting for you. Classic Karl Rove. And the AMerican People are dumb enough to fall for it.

Yup... you hit the nail on the head with that one. And America is dumb enough to fall for it... again.

I bet there will be many other plots unfold before the election, at least one of which will happen. Bush can't wait. Remember in 2001 (after 9/11) when asked how the year was going he said "Laura and I have had a fabulous year."

He is a cretin.
