Today, we started the new game at George's, the new game day. Instead of George running it, it was Phoenix running, it, even though it was still D&D. I was playing my dragon, Asher. We got ourselves together, we got kinda bonded at certain points. We were getting an handle on our characters and how we'd interact with each other. We found our way to the dungeon, as we were supposed to, got inside, wandered around a bit.
And then we decided to open a door. And because we were suprised, 4 of us were killed before any of us got to move. Four outta six. Man, it was awful. Seems this specific kind of undead was looking at us, and with thier gaze attack, were just killing us. Dead.
Well, we realized the gaze attack wasnt' being done quite as it should, and that's okay, cause we're all still getting used to everything (us-the characters; Phoenix-DM-ing) so its somethign of a learning process. SO we just decided to forget everything after opening the door, and since it was late, just stop the game there, and pick it up next time, using the correct gaze rules...and hopefully keeping us alive a bit longer.
