All we need is just a little patience....

Lady Luck kicked me to the curb this weekend. I was still in the Loser's Pool at work ( I had been kicked out of the WInners Pool when Tampa Bay lost before), and I had picked Minnesota to lose to the NY Giants. I mean, c'mon, the Vikings had yet to win a game on the road, basically, they suck this year, and the Giants, while not being incredibly impressive in my mind, have done well and were 6-2. SO naturally, I picked them. And naturally, the Vikings won. SO I was out on my chance to win $250 bucks...AGAIN! And I watched every bit of that game, down to the very end.

The second game of the day was the Redskins at the Bucs. I hate the Skins with a passion I reserve for Right-wingnut Republicans, infected hangnails, people who drive 50 mph in the fast lane, and them. So I tuned in, hoping to watch them get beaten. And with like just minutes to go, the Skins were up like 35-28, and the Bucs were floundering. I said to myself, "Self, you don't want to watch them win." so i turned off the TV and went on to do something else.

And damned if the Bucs didn't win 36-35! If only I hadn't turned it off, I would have gotten to see it. I told myself Monday afternoon I should never turn a game off prematurely, cause, as Yogi Berra said, "It ain't over till it's over."

Then, Monday night, my Cowboys were playing the Eagles. And the game was horrible! Dallas couldn't muster any offense (although thier playing was kinda offensive) and the Eagles were all over the Dallas D. SO with something like 5 minutes to go and the Eagles up 20-7, i said, screw it. I got to get up to go to work the next day, and I don't need to stay and watch an excruiating end of the game, so i turned it off. And then this morning I find out, Dallas won 21-20! How in THE hell did THAT happen?

Oh, if only I had waited and had some patience, maybe I'd know.

Hi Chris,

Not sure about all those soccer games you watch. I'm not that familiar with their nicknames or where they are from. Anyway, on to more important things.

So, how do you like the new Esther Ritchie cd? I'm listening now and it seems pretty good and lots more danceable that her other recent albums. It's weird that her name is nowhere to be found within the cd notes or cover. Oh well......

And, for the new 18 yr old mayor here is a link with a picture of him. I'm certain that there will be better pics soon. He He.....
