'Boondocks' TV Show to Start This Sunday
NEW YORK An animated TV version of "The Boondocks" will begin airing this Sunday at 11 p.m.The new series -- based on Aaron McGruder's Universal Press Syndicate comic -- will air as part of the Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" lineup (E&P Online, Sept. 21, 2004, and March 31, 2005).McGruder, whose topical strip has been syndicated since 1999, is executive producing the Sony Pictures Television show with Reggie Hudlin. Actress Regina King ("Ray") is voicing the Huey and Riley Freeman characters.The Cartoon Network has committed to at least 15 half-hour episodes.
